WK18C-20C Framing Continues
Things have been moving very fast over a the site and we're in the process of shealthing the last deck today (stay tuned for pics by the weekend). I haven't had time to update the blog much since I've been either on site or in the classroom teaching. However, the framing work on site has been professionally handled by the guys at York Construction who have been working at a blistering pace.
I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
That's about we're we left off on Friday. You can see that the 2nd floor floor joists are in and the building form is beginning to take shape.
A view from the lower floor bedroom. The window is designed to maximize the view to the east while clipping out the Freeway below.
Angel, the foreman from York Construction laying out the first floor decking.
Since theres not much room to work on the Hillside the framers access the outside edge of the building using outriggers. If you look you can see the first angled cantalever taking shape.
Each week starts with a lumber drop. As you can see, it's pretty self-explanatory. The "boom" it makes sounds like a bomb going off.
